Refracted Glory is a DVD documentary from Border Watch films about Hummingbirds. The documentary is hosted by David Rives from David Rives Ministries, and explores the multiple areas of wonder and interest in these incredible birds. With interviews of experts like Stuart Burgess, Bodie Hodge, David Menton, and Ken Ham, this documentary is a great reminder of how complex the design of life is.
Although we see Hummingbirds all the time, we generally take them for granted. The only thing we really notice is their unique flight system which is too fast for us to comprehend at 35 times per second moving an average of 35 mph through the air. Watching the slow motion footage (some of which is recorded as high as 250 fps) you can see exactly how they move their wings and learn why it matters.
I’m not going to try to go over every topic that was in the DVD because that would be too hard, so instead I’ll just go over a general review. I pre-ordered Refracted Glory a couple weeks ago so I could be one of the first to review it. I was a little uncertain at first, but after I watched the trailer I knew it was going to be awesome!
I’m glad to say, the trailer was not deceiving. The documentary was a masterpiece in my opinion. I can tell a lot of work went into researching and creating this documentary. I’m simply amazed at how much there was about Hummingbirds that I didn’t know and how complex they are. Everything from their flight system to the way their bodies work was incredible.
My only complaint is that there is nothing about the DVD which I can critic, so I don’t really have much to say in this review. So I’ll just say that Refracted Glory: Marvels in every Way has earned itself 5 out of 5 stars. By the end of the documentary, you will very likely be saying “that didn’t happen by chance!”
